I am currently having problems trying to download the US client. It bugs up my entire computer and browser whenever I attempt to download it. Each time, I am forced to go into Safe Mode just to remove the bugged client that can never fully finish downloading. I am using Firefox and have only had this problem before with one other download in the past, nothing else since till now. Has anyone else encountered this on other browsers? Or on Firefox? And does anyone know if there's a torrent for the client instead of a manual download from a site?

As far as I know there are no torrents for the game. You're also the first one who has this particular problem. How fast is your internet connection? Do you use an up to date version of Firefox? Any download accelerators?

Yes, my Firefox is up to date. I do not use any accelerators. I did just try using IE8 to download the file from the link I got in my email, and again, the browser stops responding and never finishes the download, thus leading to another bugged client stuck on my computer until I go into Safe Mode to remove it. I have tried already 3-5 times on Firefox and now once on IE, with both of them doing the same thing. I am all out of ideas on what to do other than ask for someone with the client to kindly put it in torrent format.

Am I really the only one who cannot download the client at all? And is there no other way to get the client except from fileplanet? If anyone can help, please say something. Anything at this point would be helpful...

So... does it actually say 100% (or maybe 99 or 98? something very near or supposedly complete) but everything freezes when it is supposed to be done?

I had this problem the very first time I tried to download the file (and I have seen this happen with other files and on other computers).

The second time I just let it "bake off" so to speak and eventually everything was just fine and I was able to use the installer. Just took awhile, I think it's to do with caching and the likes.

If I misunderstand what you're saying perhaps you can clarify for me... how far does the download get? how long do you let the computer sit and think before forcing a reboot?

All else fails, try using a downloader such as http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm

and use the file location in the attached text document (posting it into the forum directly will mess up the link)

That doesn't work since it keeps saying it requires a password or username or something of the sort...

The problem could also be caused by your anti-virus program, although it's unlikely. Maybe there are some rare conditions coming together and your guard / real-time scanner gets stuck. You could try this by disabling the guard for the download. If it works then, you can re-enable it afterwards and scan the file with the on-demand scanner if necessary.

Hi Guys,

Ive seen one report of this previously that was caused by windows Defender, Please let me know if you have that running when downloading the client.

Yes, I do. Must I disable it?

What doesn't work? If you referring to my suggested method, it worked fine for me. Made absolute sure to test it out. Sorry if something is going wrong for you.

Perhaps disabling windows defender is what you need to try.

Best of luck.

Hi Guys,

Ive seen one report of this previously that was caused by windows Defender, Please let me know if you have that running when downloading the client.

This fixed my issue, explorer kept crashing whenever I tried to do anything with the hedone installer (even viewing a folder with it in). Turning off real time protection in MSE fixed it.
